All About Cappuccinos and Lattes

If you are someone that visits your local coffee shop only to be met with confusion, you may need to find out more about your standard cappuccino and latte choices.

There are quite a few options when it comes to ordering cappuccinos and lattes, so you want to be well-versed in these terms so that you don't look the fool when you approach the barista counter. If you order your cappuccino wet, it means that it has more milk in the drink. On the flipside, if you order it dry, it means that it has less milk and much more foam. Many coffee shops will separate the two with wet being the American style and dry being the Italian style of the drinks.

From there, you may need to learn the lingo of each individual coffee shop since you can have your cappuccino or latte with skim, whole, or soy milk; caffeinated, decaffeinated, or half caf. You also have the chance to add or remove whipped cream from your drink, as well as add a number of customized flavored syrups.

By the time that you get your drink perfected, you may want to write it down since it can sound like a whole new language! If you really do feel overwhelmed by the prospect of ordering one of these espresso beverages, just ask your friendly barista or coffee loving friend what the best choice for you may be. Authentic is always better, so if you can do without flavoring, you may want to try a natural latte or cappuccino without added flavors or sugar since it provides the beautiful and robust taste of freshly brewed espresso!
